Leave the coop

A few weeks ago, Tedd and I decided that it was finally time to let these ladies out of the coop! We got them back in July as 1 day old baby chicks. They were so tiny and fluffy when we brought them home from Tractor Supply in a tiny cardboard box. They have been in the right side of Floyd's coop for a few months now and we were so excited to let them outside to explore the big world around them. For those of you who have never had free range chickens, I'm telling you...you're missing out! They are so much fun to watch just pecking and scratching around outside, digging up bugs and grubs, being active all day. You can tell its just what they were meant to do...and they're so happy. So imagine our disappointment, and really downright frustration when we opened the coop and this happened. FEAR. They wouldn't go past the door. We stepped back and gave them time.  We tried to lure them out. We tried to carry them out...and they ran right back in and peaked ...

The Dream House Itself

God is so amazing! And I don't know about you, but he loves to keep me guessing what he has up His sleeve next! I remember last fall (2017) getting a strange phone call from my brother. He, very out of the blue, called to ask me if we would be interested in buying a home. The strange part isn't my brother, well actually he is strange too, but that is besides the point! Ha! I have gone literal years between posts, and had basically no followers.  I am not a writer, and have a pretty boring life.  The answer? God told me to.  No really, the Holy Spirit has been nudging me to do this for well over a year. And, I haven't listened. I don't know why I haven't listened. But I haven't. As I'm typing this, I have no idea what this will become. It could be that I am supposed to blog here for personal development and to grow in my personal walk with Christ. Or maybe God wants to use me for something bigger.  I used to think that was impossible. But I don't feel that way anymore. I surely do not feel qualified, and I really am not. But, no matter how qu...
