Leave the coop
A few weeks ago, Tedd and I decided that it was finally time to let these ladies out of the coop! We got them back in July as 1 day old baby chicks. They were so tiny and fluffy when we brought them home from Tractor Supply in a tiny cardboard box. They have been in the right side of Floyd's coop for a few months now and we were so excited to let them outside to explore the big world around them. For those of you who have never had free range chickens, I'm telling you...you're missing out! They are so much fun to watch just pecking and scratching around outside, digging up bugs and grubs, being active all day. You can tell its just what they were meant to do...and they're so happy. So imagine our disappointment, and really downright frustration when we opened the coop and this happened. FEAR. They wouldn't go past the door. We stepped back and gave them time. We tried to lure them out. We tried to carry them out...and they ran right back in and peaked ...
